QUESTION: What government financing is available for a business?

ANSWER
There are several government financing programs for small business targeted to specific industries, geographical areas or particular groups of entrepreneurs. Most of these financing programs consist of loans. There are very few grants available, but they do exist for certain groups and industry sectors.

For information on the federal government financing programs for small business check the Canada-Ontario Business Service Centre(COBSC) web site: www.canadabusiness.ca/ontario. For the provincial government check the following resources on www.2ontario.com You should also contact the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC) to learn more about your financing options. www.bdc.ca
